The Challenge

The work of conserving Mediterranean cold-water corals is scientifically complex and largely unknown to the public. Coral Soul and Coral Guardian needed an engaging way to communicate the importance of their conservation work, build understanding and strengthen support for the DEEP CORE project.

Campaign Concept

Working closely with both organisations, I developed a documentary concept tailored to their communication goals before production began. Throughout filming, I collaborated with the team to ensure the story authentically reflected their work while remaining accessible and engaging for a broad international audience.

The film follows Marina and the Coral Soul team, documenting their efforts to protect the endangered chandelier coral through the DEEP CORE project and highlighting the people behind the conservation work.

To extend the campaign beyond the main documentary, I also created a series of short-form communication assets, including a social media feature explaining the ecological importance of Mediterranean cold-water corals. Selected footage has since been used by the organisation in television interviews and additional outreach activities.
